How did you get the name Mistofer Christopher?

I wanted a fun name.   Does Chris Miller sound like fun?   I would like to think I bring sunshine but just hearing Chris Miller unless you know me doesn’t ring the fun doorbell.   I have a dear friend, Dan Black, who is a wonderful artist and writer.  See his work @ www.danielpblack.com .  When I used to visit with him he would say:  “Hello Mistofer Christopher!”  I love it.  It stuck.

What books did you read as a child?

Books were like candy in our house so every few months there would be a new set of goodies to chew.  The Black Stallion series by Walter Farley.  Irish Red Series by Jim Kjelgaard.

What magazines did you read growing up?

The staple magazines in our house throughout my childhood into adulthood were: The Watchtower, Awake Magazine www.jw.org  and National Geographic.   For different age periods there was Cricket, Highlights and Ranger Rick.

Mistofer Christopher stopped aging at 23.   I’m somewhere between 23 and 1,000,000,000 minutes old.

What is your pet peeve/weakness?

Paper just is attracted to me and sticks to me and then I slowly turn into a paper monster.

My monster was a new  train named Choo-Choo.  Look out for a blog coming soon about him.  There are others but I’m afraid to say them out loud.  Are you afraid of saying your fears out loud because they may come and get you?

What is the first book you ever wrote?

I was 8 maybe 9 years old and I loved horses.  (See question 11)  So I decided to write a book about horses.  I used navy blue construction paper to make the cover and I used 8.5 by 11 lined paper.  I stapled it to keep it together.   I am looking for it because I have it somewhere in my active volcano called Mount Paper.

My dad was a teacher.  Books were candy in our house.  He would read bedtime stories to us.

What else do you do in your life?

I give tours at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as New York City, I share in a voluntary community educational work with JW.org.  I love, love, love to travel.  You can see my adventures on IG @mistofer_christopher & IG @touristinmytown.  I’ll tell you more later about what I like to do.
